MN Hail Damage and
Storm Damage Repair Report
What You Need to Know Before Hiring a Contractor For Your Storm Damage Claim
______________________________________________
DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO SAY TO AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER?
DO YOU WANT A CONTRACTOR WHO DOES?
**More than 70% of Homeowners Unknowingly Settle For
Insufficient Repairs or Denied Claims after
Suffering Hail Damage **
______________________________________________
Did you know that many insurance claims to repair storm damage can add up to $20,000, $30,000, $40,000, and more? This adds value
to your home, but you could miss out if you do not
hire the right contractor to represent you.
Why Would I Need A Contractor To Represent Me?
Insurance adjuster work for insurance companies--work at saving them money. How do they do it? By minimizing repair work on hail and storm damaged homes or overlooking it altogether. A knowledgeable, reputable contractor works for the homeowner by carefully evaluating the damage and providing represenetation to achieve the very best results--complete repairs for damaged property. Homeowners need experienced, knowledgeable representation when it comes to dealing with insurance companies.
An Adjuster Already Came To The House. Do I Still Need A Contractor To Represent Me?
We have yet to see a perfect insurance estimate for hail and storm damage repair. Even well-meaning adjusters can make mistakes, but some either do not take the time to do a full survey of the property or are not trained well enough to do it. Premier takes the time and fully commits to the task of representing you so that you receive a fair settlement for your hail and storm damage. We make time to meet with adjusters multiple times to make sure your best interests are being served.
Does It Matter That Most Contractors Take A Homeowner Insurance Claim "As Is"?
Yes, it does! These contractors might as well be employees of the insurance company. They are not looking out for the homeowner--just for a quick job. Many contractors do not go over every detail of the insurance claim to make sure that all the damage is covered.
Are There Other Cautions Regarding This?
When a contractor is not experienced enough working with insurance claims, he does not foresee material price changes, does not observe overlooked repairs, and can miss code requirements, which change often. Some contractors will ask the homeowner to cover the difference between the claim amount the job cost because he did not have experience working with insurance claims. This should never have to happen!
A Large Percentage Contractors Did Not Renew Their Licenses in MN for 2009. Why Does This Matter?
A Contractor who is no longer in business will not be servicing warranty claims on workmanship.
What Problems Could Arise From Hiring An
Out-Of-Town Contractor?
Contractors from other states temporarily move to Minnesota and prey on MN
homeowners with hail damage. When the work dries up, they move back home
and take their warranty claims with them.
Why Would an Out-of-State Contractor Not
Be Able To Finish The Job?
In 2008, suppliers around MN ran into a material shortage. When there was not enough to go around, some out-of-state contractors were not able to order more supplies because the local companies received the only material available. This left jobs half-done and and homeowners with the problem of losing their down payment and once again looking for a contractor to complete the repair work.
What If A Claim Is Denied?
Premier has never turned down the chance to turn a "no" into a "yes". We are here to help homeowners maximize their claims and be given the chance to have their hail and storm damage repaired. We will work hard to make it happen!
A Contractor is Promising Me A Lot For
Signing the Contract. Should I sign a contract?
A good contract will protect both the homeowner and the contractor. Do not be alarmed by a contract, but make sure to read it over carefully. Do not fall victim to overbearing or pushy sales representatives. The more insistent
they are, the more you should beware. A reputable contractor wants to be sure
that you feel comfortable and will take the time to address your
concerns and explain the process.
It is crucial to find The Right Contractor to help maximize your claim settlement while providing excellent customer service, superior workmanship, and a warranty!

Here is what one of many happy customers had to say:
November 29, 2006
I am happy to recommend Premier Home Improvement. After a hail storm
this summer, we had numerous offers from different contractors. John and Allen
Labatt were in the neighborhood and stopped by one afternoon to introduce themselves
and take a look at the house.
After talking with them for a while, they seemed honest and
professional so we decided to use them for all of our storm damage. We had
no previous knowledge of Premier Home Improvement, so we were a little skeptical about
what we were getting into. Now, after the entire process is finished, we are
very pleased with the choice we made.
I contacted my insurance adjuster to setup a time to look at the house. John
and Allen were here when the adjuster arrived and did a very thorough job
of going through all of the damage to the house. The adjuster agreed with
all the damage that John and Allen pointed out, and we ended up getting money
for a new roof, all new siding, and new garage doors, along with some other
smaller items.
Shortly after receiving out first payment from the insurance company, Premier Home Improvement had someone here working on the house. A couple weeks later we had
a new roof and siding, and the house looked like new again. They then came
back to meet with us and take care of any concerns we may have had with the
work that was done.
The Labatts are very honest and friendly people to work with, and we would
not hesitate to use them again in the future.
Sincerely,
Steve and Sheryl Bue
